2012 Meeting

The 2012 meeting will take place on Friday-Saturday, February 24-25 at Elon University in Elon, NC. This will be a joint meeting with the South Carolina Society for Philosophy. The keynote speaker will be Robert Adams, Distinguished Research Professor at UNC Chapel Hill.

Travel and Lodging

Directions to Elon University can be found here. For those traveling by plane to the conference, the nearest international airports are the Piedmont-Triad (GSO, in Greensboro, North Carolina, roughly 30 minutes by car) and the Raleigh/Durham (RDU, roughly 50 minutes by car).

There is a block of 70 rooms at the Country Inn & Suites (3211 Wilson Drive, Burlington, NC; phone: 336-584-1115). There are 35 suites with a king bed at the conference rate of $81, and 35 suites with double queen beds at the conference rate of $89. The cut-off date for reservations at these rates is February 10, 2012; mention Elon University Philosophy Department when making reservations.

Parking, Registration, and Sessions

Participants can park in either the McMichael or Moseley parking lots (anywhere in those lots—not just the visitor parking spaces). McMichael and Moseley are buildings 9 and 27 on the campus map here. (There is also a map on the program.)

Registration will be in Belk Pavilion, Room 208. This is building 14 on the campus map. (Note that this is not Belk library, but Belk Pavilion, in the Academic Village.) The registration fee (cash or check only) for NCPS participants will be $5 for undergraduates, $15 for graduate students, and $25 for faculty. Please note that the NCPS has no advance registration. Registration details for SCSP participants may differ.

All sessions will be on the campus of Elon University. Information on buildings and room numbers is indicated on the program.
